About Us

aboutusmain

The Fresh for Less program is a community run, bulk buying program that offers monthly bags filled with fresh fruits and vegetables for an affordable price.

Common staple items in the bags include potatoes, carrots, onions, apples, bananas, and oranges. Additional items vary each month.

Each bag costs $20 with an estimated value of over $40.

The Fresh for Less program distributes bags on the second Wednesday of each month (second Tuesday of each month for the Alnwick region)

Fresh for Less originally started in Northumberland County in 2016 at the Natoaganeg Food Centre.

Our goal is to increase access to fresh produce for our community members. We currently distribute affordable fresh produce to over 400 community members.

The Fresh for Less program is a project of The Roots to Table Food Security Network.
